A regional parcel-sortation centre approached us with a noise and maintenance complaint: 18 m of chain drives running through the sortation hall were the loudest piece of equipment in the building, and required re-tensioning and lubrication every 6 weeks.
We replaced the chain with welded AT10 PU timing belts up to 12 m in a single span, paired with AT10 aluminum pulleys. The belts run quieter (40 dB reduction measured at the operator position), require no lubrication, and have been in service for 9 months without a re-tension event.
Maintenance hours on the sortation line dropped 25 % in the first six months — a result the operations team is now extending to other lines in the same facility.
